Frequently Asked Questions
Care instructions for outdoor mosaics
For my mosaics on slate and the hanging birds/animals/shapes, if placed outdoors, please make sure that they are securely fixed to a wall so that there is no movement from the wind.
In addition, to keep the slate surface looking at its best, you can rub in a touch of oil (I use linseed oil, or WD40) to darken the colour and to give it a bit of a shine. Ensure you do not get the oil onto the grout!
Whilst the materials that I use can survive in minus temperatures, they may not survive in serious frosts. Over severe winters, I recommend that they are taken inside, are in a protected area or are wrapped in bubble wrap or blankets & tarpaulin.
Custom and personalised orders
I do take custom orders, for all mosaics - from mirrors, house signs / numbers on slate, up to bathroom & kitchen splash backs, stepping stones and more.
Visit the 'To Commission Me' page to find out how to go about requesting a custom order.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Given that I am all about recycling, I do try to reuse packaging materials where possible such as bubble wrap, polystyrene peanuts and boxes. That said, I do parcel up the mosaic inside with tissue paper (sourced from a scrapstore and pretty string) where possible.
Wholesale availability
Please contact me via convo or email should you wish to discuss wholesale availability, or to stock my mosaics in your outlet or gallery.
